On Our Way!

Here is Bruce guarding our door at the economy inn.

Peak A Boo

Taking a walk down my grandparents old driveway in the country. Now they're in the city in a condo, but I had to visit this place where I've been coming since 4 days after I was born.

We didn't leave Atlanta until Friday night, around 5:30. The pods where incredibly packed. I'll take pictures when we get them. I don't think anything will move around, there's no room. We had to get rid of a little bit of stuff, but not too much. We did really good with those 3 small pods. I think Dan deserves a packer's prize.
We stayed just east of Memphis the first night, at the economy inn. It was definetely economy, dirty, and stinky. We all slept pretty good anyway. Bruce was a little amped up the whole time, growling at late night arrivals out the window. The next morning we stopped at Otherland's Coffee House in Memphis TN. I found it on Happycow.com. It wasn't the greatest spot in the world, but the bagel with toffuti cream cheese was pretty cool. Dan's vegan burrito turned out to be a frozen Amy's burrito. Haha. Dan's Mocha was real good and the outside deck was pet friendly, so it really was a nice little stop. We then headed on to Arkansas, where my grandparents live. About 45 minutes from my grandparents house, we stopped at a nice health food store and got some food to eat. It was here that Halen decided to have a massive diaper blowout. There was shit on his shoes! It was quite the mess. We took care of that and made our last leg of the trip to the grandparents. Halen has been real sweet and cute with them. We head out of here tomorrow.
Halen and Bruce have both been super troopers in the car. I am glad Halen has the dvd player. I read him lots of books from the front seat too. There haven't been any crying fits though, which is amazing for the amount of time we've spend cooped up in that car. There's so much more to go too!!!!
Okay, now for some picture updates.
It's taking forever to upload the pictures! If it doesn't work, I'll do it later when we have a faster connection.

Partay

We had a fun going away party. We sure are going to miss people. Everyone needs to come out to Portland as soon as possible. We'll have a guest room. We leave Thursday. We've got evening plans every night, but days are open. We'll probably just be around the house packing stuff up. Stop by and hang out if you want.

Half Way There

I am 20 weeks pregnant today! That's half way. Halen was 3 days earlier than the 40 week gestation period though, so this one will probably be a bit early too. The second usually follows the first one's schedule, or is even sooner. I'm hoping for even sooner!

We're busy busy busy over here. We're packing up everything in our pods. Halen is being 'very helpful' and unpacking everything for us. He really will be helpful at the new house, now it's nearly impossible to do anything while he's awake.

We had a small incident with my dresser yesterday. It somersaulted off the front deck and landed on it's head. It was pretty funny. I'm just glad it didn't land on Dan, or the kitty. Nobody knows exactly how it happened. It's kinda broken now. I'm just glad we have one less thing to pack and unpack. I can't believe Dan and I fit everything we owned into the back of our volvo station wagon just a few years ago.

Halen is asleep now, so we need to pack some more and clean. We have a house showing scheduled today, then a going away party. See ya there.

The Mess Never Stops

I bought markers because he wouldn't stop eating the crayons. I thought markers would taste gross and wouldn't have that apparently oh so wonderful wax taste and texture. I guess markers are just as tasty. They're not scented or anything.

Partay

We will be having a going away party this Saturday. Most likely at Decatur Skate Park a.k.a. McCoy Park. Come hang out, bring some food, cook out, skate, watch Halen be awesome. There is no alcohol allowed so bring your koozie and keep it in the can. No glass bottles. If it rains or any other problems we will just get up at my house.

5 ish.

here's an aerial of our new homestead, our sweet trailer park.

Missing Daddy

Dan is in Portland, doublewide hunting. We're going to be living in class baby. He's found one that we think we're going to put an offer on. The problem with most trailer parks in the Portland area is the dumb dog restrictions. Most of the ones that do allow dogs, want them to be less than 20 pounds!!! Who wants a dog that weighs less than 20 pounds? One realtor actually said to Dan, "if you want to get rid of the dog, you'd have alot more options." Get rid of Bruce? I'd cut off my toes first you crazy lady! So, we're looking in one of the only dog friendly parks in the area, but it also happens to be one of the more quiet family oriented ones, so it's perfect! There's actually a neighborhood pool and clubhouse. Even better is the trail to the river that runs right next to the park, where there's a little beach area. I looked at it on google's satellite map. I wish someone would buy our house here. I'm getting nervous about paying for both places.
Halen misses Dan like crazy. So do I. Halen keeps going around the house looking for him. When he hears somebody drive by outside, he perks up and says, "daddy? Dan? Daddy?" He keeps waiting for him to walk in that door. His new thing is to call Dan by his name now. It's real cute. He says it the way I do, in the funny sing song multiple syllabled way.
Halen went with me yesterday to my midwife appointment. It was my last appointment here in Atlanta. We'll be gone in a month. The midwife said that my uterus had grown substantially since the last appointment. Size-wise, I'm more like 20 weeks. I'm 18 today. She said that means it's either twins or another big baby. Either way, I'll be happy. I guess we'll see at my ultra sound appointment.
I'm going to fish for some cute pictures to put up now.
Later,
Christy
The pictures I decided on are of Halen eating his first taco bell burrito. We stopped on our way home from Mississippi. he really liked it!!! That was all I wanted to eat when I was pregnant with him. Now the idea of taco bell makes me sick. I wanted it the first trimester some, but now I'm totally over it. Last time, I wanted it all along.
