Tybee Time!

We went to Tybee Island to veg out on the beach for Memorial Day Weekend. Halen got to hang out with a bunch of his lady friends and play in the sand. The water was still a bit cold. We all wussed out on going in there. It's a good thing cause our friend Jess was walking down the pier the day that everyone was swimming and saw someone catch a shark with their fishing pole. Turns out that lots of the people on the pier where fishing for sharks, using whole small chickens as bait. Halen thoroughly enjoyed the sweet potato fries at a local marina.
Today we head out of town again! Jeepers, will it ever stop? My aunt Melanie got married and we're all going to Arizona to celebrate.
The house is still not on the market. There is still stuff to be done. We're missing valuable real estate time. Hopefully next week! I'll post pics of how fancy I've got it looking when it's all done. We're doing major clean up around here!

First Haircut

I almost cried as they cut off his cute baby curls! He looks like a big boy now. He had fun and was a perfectly behaved boy, like always.

It's Been Awhile

Sorry, but I've been sleeping! I know I keep saying this, but this first trimester has got to be over soon and then I'll be bursting with energy.
I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures and let them speak for themselves.

Braves Win It In The 7th

And Halen was there to Tomahawk Chop them to their victory, wearing his Sesame Street baseball jersey. He had lots of fun, even though he stayed up way past his bedtime. I wasn't there, so you'll have to ask Dan the details of the boys night out.

9 weeks

Your baby is nearly an inch long — barely the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce, but he's poised for rapid weight gain now that his basic physical structure is in place. His embryonic tail is completely gone, and the development of his body parts — including organs, muscles, and nerves — is kicking into gear. His eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. His upper lip is fully formed, and his mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. Your baby's sex organs are present now but won't be discernable as male or female for another few weeks.



I had my first midwife appointment yesterday. It was awesome. I am having a home birth in Oregon, so I am going to one of the only home birth mid wive's here for prenatal care until I leave. The visit was nearly 2 hours long. My first visit to the Northside midwives was about 2 hours worth of waiting around, and 15 minutes of an appointment. Homebirth is the way to go, for so many reasons. I'm very excited. I wish I had researched it more and went that route with Halen's birth. Homebirths are illegal here in Georgia though, so there's only a handful of midwives who will do it. Insurance won't pay for it here either.
Okay now, back to yard work. We got a gigantic pile of mulch dumped in our driveway yesterday. I'm spreading it around the back yard, trying to cover up the weeds. I came in for a water break and got on the computer to see if it was supposed to rain and now I'm blogging. Computers sure can suck you in.
