9 Months!!!

Halen is 9 months old, 25 pounds, 32 inches, crawling, waving, kissing, being "so big", and I think he said "DOG." He's still off the charts for length and weight. At the playground yesterday, there was a 15 month little girl in the swing next to Halen who was smaller. It was funny. I'll try to be better about keeping this updated. The little girl in the picture where they're both in yellow, is Emiline. She has the same bday as Halen. They are really cute together and I think they want to get married.
Allrighty, it's bedtime for mommy. Later.

5 Teethers

Yet another tooth has popped through those poor swollen gums. So, he's got his two middle bottom teeth all grown in, and is working on his two top middle ones and the bottom one to the left of his existing teeth! 5 teeth! Big big boy. He's bit my finger and it hurt like crap. I'm hoping he never tries biting the other part of me that goes in his mouth! OUCH!
I'd put a picture in here, but he won't let me hold his mouth open and if I put a finger in there, it'll get bit! so, you'll have to risk looking yourself.

He's Officially Crawling!!!

Dude, are you eating the sand? Okay, I'll try it! Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
Bath time! Who's got the bigger weiner? Halen's holding onto his!

We went on a last minute trip down to Savannah with Connor (Halen's bff) and his parents for Labor Day weekend. Connor took his first steps, every one of them at full speed, a day or two before we left. He has yet to do a real crawl though, still doing the same "creep" that Halen has been doing for awhile now. Apparently, on the way down there, Connor was bragging to Halen about the walking thing. Halen decided that he couldn't walk, but that when we got there, he'd show everyone that he was done with the creep, and was ready for the full on crawl. The moment we put him down on the floor at the B&B, he was crawling. He has reverted back to the creep a few times, but even now that we're home, he's got his crawl on. We're so proud. He had a blast at the beach. He totally thinks sand is cool! The ocean was the perfect temperature and not too rough. It was a wonderful weekend. There are so many great pictures, it'll be hard to choose just a few for the blog.

Another Tooth!

Yep, the other front toother popped through last night. Hopefully we're done for awhile, because it's hell for poor Halen. I enjoy the extra snuggle time, but my floors are real dirty.

New Tooth

That's right, the front left tooth has broken through the gums and is ready to bite anyone who gets close... So watch out! I am not even going to attempt to take a picture, due to the extreme bite risk. Instead, I will post this picture of my hula hooping wonder.

Huh?

Yum, hairy nipples make the best milk. Dan needs to get with it and share in the joys of breastfeeding.

Breakfast Of Champions

I didn't even like whipped cream, but I like this stuff!
I gave Halen a bowl of oatmeal. He pulled it straight to his lap and went to town! Then he got disco fever and had to point up for a minute. Then back to oatmeal. He loves feeding himself now. He thinks he's getting too big to be spoon fed. His first words are going to be, "I can do it myself." Well, maybe that's far fetched, it'll probably be more like "dog" or "Bruce." Yes, the dogs are way more important that "momma" and "dadda." I have accepted that.

8 Months

Halen turned 8 months old on Thursday. He weighed in at 24 pounds and is 31 inches long. He's just off the charts for weight and way off the charts for length. 31 inches is the length for an 11 month old in the 95th percentile.

It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Halen man!!!

Chocolate Silk

You know how it says "not to be used as infant formula" on your Silk containers??? Well, I always read that and thought, 'duh, who would give this to a baby?' Well, today I saw a woman pouring chocolate silk into a bottle, for a baby who was somewhere between 3 and 6 months old.
crazy!

A Little Ditty About Dogs And Babies

This morning Halen took a morning poop, and quite a large bit of poop it was. Usually, I immediately take the diapers to the toilet, shake the poop off, and flush it (cloth diapers you know). This morning, Halen was tired and needing to nurse and nap. So, I folded the diaper in half and laid it on the floor to get to it after I put him down for his nap. We came to the living room and played and nursed till he fell asleep. When I went back into his room to lay him down for his nap, the diaper was open and licked clean. Yummy!

Circus Baby!

It looks like he's having fun with his daddy, and he is, but he's really that happy because he's that much closer to THE FAN! Yep, his favoritest thing in the world, and he got to look right at it, eye level. Who wouldn't be that happy?

Just Having Some Fun

Albequerquequeque

Halen and I went on a trip to Albequerque to visit my aunt Melanie and Puckett the cat. Everywhere we went, Halen had people awwwing at him. He really is such a handsome and pleasant baby. He adjusted to the dry climate just fine, but I had boogers in my nose that felt like razor sharp rocks. We went to Santa Fe one day and saw the Georgia O'Keefe museum. Halen let out a huge belch during the film. It was out of respect I'm sure. I had to take his pacifier away from him because he might "toss it" at the artwork. It's a good thing he's not that attached to it. He was good on the planes for the most part. He was slightly inconsolably crying for about 5 minutes once. That's not that bad, considering the amount of time we where on those planes. We had to transfer in Denver. It was 3.5 hours to there, and then another hour to Alb. Okay, I'm gona find some pics to go with this and then get my ass to bed. It's late. Halen's friend Connor is coming to play tomorrow while his mommy is in class. It'll be fun. I'm sure I'll get some cute pictures.

Mom's New Threads

I got new clothes! I got a whole slew of shirts with secret boobie revealing holes! It's great!!! Halen is happy too. Not only is his mommy so stylish, but he can get to the boobie without being covered up by a blanket in this heat! I never knew secret boobie holes could make me so happy, but they most certainly do! Yeah Boobies!

The Terror Begins

Here Halen is trying to pull everything from the drawer out and onto the floor. He also tries to pull himself up out of his walker and hang on the drawer.

Little Vegan buddies. How awesome would it be if all of our parents where as cool as we are and raised us vegan??? I am so happy that Halen has Connor.

Hands and Knees!!!

Looky who's figured out how to get up on his hands and knees. Pretty soon he'll actually be able to go forwards! Lately it's just been rolling over and scooting backwards.
It's a good thing we're making baby knee pads at craft night Thursday!

This and That

Halen rode the carousel and the train at Zoo Atlanta. Yes, we went to the zoo. I know it's not very vegan of me, but I had to meet my sis-in-law there to pick up my niece who was visiting from out of town. Halen didn't really notice the animals, but he did like the train. Later that day we went to the Bodies Exhibit at the Civic Center. Halen said that he likes people with skin on better than off. I agree.
Finally, here's a picture of his shark bib from aunt Lisa. He's holding it up so you all can see it better.
Halen hung out with Connor at the Bingo game benefit hosted by Artists to the Rescue. The benefit was a big success. They raised almost $2000 and one dog got adopted, while 3 others are in the application process! Halen just had fun hanging with his buddy, swapping drooly toys and such.
Halen is getting really close to crawling. We're going to host a baby craft night this week where we're going to make baby knee pads so his knees stay nice and soft once he starts moving all over the house.
